Sarah Emerson Honored as Exceptional Educator

Farmington Hills, MI — Giroux Pappas Trial Attorneys is proud to recognize Sarah Emerson, theater teacher at West Bloomfield Middle School, as its latest Exceptional Educator of the Month—an award that celebrates educators who go above and beyond to inspire, support, and uplift their students.

The recognition was presented following a student performance from the schools recently produced musical, the Descendants, showcasing the creativity, confidence, and joy Ms. Emerson instills in her students every day.

As a theater teacher, Ms. Emerson creates an environment where students are encouraged to express themselves, take risks, and grow both artistically and personally. Her classroom is a space where confidence is built and voices are discovered.

But her impact reaches far beyond the stage.

When her school faced a staffing shortage, Ms. Emerson stepped in without hesitation—taking on an additional English Language Arts class to ensure students continued receiving the support they needed. She also leads MIFA after school, giving students a safe, engaging space to learn, connect, and thrive outside of regular classroom hours.

In addition, Ms. Emerson is an active member of both the SEL and PBIS teams, where she plays a vital role in supporting student well-being and fostering a positive school culture.

Through its Exceptional Educator program, Giroux Pappas awards $1,000 each month to a teacher’s school to support classroom initiatives, student programs, or resources that enhance learning.

Ms. Emerson’s dedication, leadership, and unwavering belief in her students make her a truly deserving recipient of this honor.
