Beth Iatrou Named Exceptional Educator for November by Giroux Pappas
November 2024 Exceptional Educator Named From Farmington Hills’ East Middle School
Farmington Hills, MI – Giroux Pappas is thrilled to announce Beth Iatrou, an art teacher at East Middle School in Farmington Hills as the November Exceptional Educator.
This recognition is part of the Exceptional Educator program that Giroux Pappas launched over three years ago in partnership with WXYZ. Each month, we honor a teacher who goes above and beyond for their students by donating $1,000 to their school in their honor. In addition, each educator is celebrated in a special TV commercial, highlighting their incredible contributions to their school communities.
Beth is a shining example of what it means to be an exceptional educator. She teaches art to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders, creating a welcoming and inclusive space for all her students, including those in Special Education. Her nominator describes her as “a very kind human, smiling all the time,” and shared how students are “bummed” when the semester changes and they can no longer be in her class.
But Beth’s impact goes far beyond the art room. She runs the Student Council, organizes the annual Washington, D.C. trip, and helps with school plays, contributing to the vibrant school culture at East Middle School. Her dedication, kindness, and unwavering support have made her a beloved figure in her school community.
This Giving Tuesday, Giroux Pappas is proud to celebrate educators like Beth who shape and inspire future generations. We also encourage our community to join us in giving back.
Congratulations to Beth Iatrou, our November Exceptional Educator, for her outstanding contributions to her students and school!
