The Multi-Car Collision Monday Night Leaves One Woman Dead
Tragedy struck on Monday night just outside of Ann Arbor, as a collision resulted in the loss of a woman’s life and left two others injured, according to authorities.
Crash Near Carpenter Road and Packard Road
The incident occurred in Pittsfield Township, MI, near Ann Arbor. Reports from the police indicate that a 35-year-old Ann Arbor resident was driving a 2012 Scion TC, attempting to make a left turn onto southbound Carpenter Road around 7:54 p.m. The vehicle was struck on its front passenger side by a 2010 Ford Escape traveling east on Packard Road.
Tragically, the impact claimed the life of a woman seated in the front passenger seat of the Scion. The driver of the Scion, also an Ann Arbor resident, was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Meanwhile, the 22-year-old Ypsilanti man operating the Ford Escape sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was also hospitalized.
The identity of the deceased woman has not been disclosed by the authorities.
At present, investigations into the crash are ongoing, with authorities yet to determine whether drugs or alcohol were factors. Witnesses to the incident are urged to contact the Pittsfield Township police at 734-822-4958.
