A serious car accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon on I-94 near Ann Arbor. The accident left an adult and two young children injured. The accident occurred along westbound I-94, close to Belleville Road in Van Buren Township, as reported by the Michigan State Police (MSP).
Details of the Ann Arbor Car Accident
According to preliminary investigations, the at-fault driver crossed all three lanes of the freeway in an attempt to make their exit at Belleville Road. This reckless maneuver resulted in a collision with another car. The car subsequently rolled up the right embankment and onto the service drive. The vehicle’s occupants, an adult and two children aged 8 and 9, sustained serious injuries and were transported to the hospital.
Aftermath and Investigation
The driver responsible for the accident was not injured. Authorities have stated that they do not believe drugs, alcohol, or medication were contributing factors in the crash. “We continue to see preventable crashes caused by risky driving behaviors,” said MSP First Lt. Mike Shaw on social media. “A family received serious injuries because a driver couldn’t just wait for the next exit. Be aware of your location and make smart decisions behind the wheel.”
The identity of the at-fault driver has not been disclosed, as the investigation is still ongoing.
