Details of the Washtenaw County Car Accident
According to investigators, a 56-year-old man from Brooklyn, Michigan, was driving a Dodge Ram westbound on Michigan Avenue when he attempted to pass a Volvo semi-truck. During the maneuver, the Ram struck an oncoming Jeep Cherokee driven by a 36-year-old Tecumseh woman with her two children inside. The Jeep left the roadway after impact, and the Dodge then sideswiped the semi-truck before colliding head-on with a Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 43-year-old Osseo man. Osseo is just south east of Hillsdale.
Both the driver of the Dodge and the Silverado driver — who was ejected — died at the scene. The Jeep’s driver and a 46-year-old passenger in the Chevrolet were hospitalized with critical injuries.
