Fiery Macomb County Car Accident Kills One Injures Another
1 Dead, 1 Hurt in Fiery Macomb County Car Accident: Police Investigate Possible Alcohol Involvement
A tragic car accident occurred in Macomb County early Sunday morning, resulting in the death of one person and injuries to another. Police believe alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the crash, which took place in Sterling Heights at approximately 1:50 a.m.
Details of the Car Crash in Macomb County
The incident happened at the intersection of Van Dyke Avenue and 15 Mile Road. According to the Macomb Daily and the authorities, a 54-year-old woman from Warren was driving a Ford F-150 with a 30-year-old male passenger. The truck was stopped at a red light when a Dodge Charger, driven by a 25-year-old man from Detroit, collided with the rear of the pickup truck. The force of the impact caused both vehicles to catch fire.
Tragically, the Warren woman lost her life in the accident. Her 30-year-old passenger suffered burns and was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. The driver of the Dodge Charger, who police suspect was under the influence of alcohol, declined medical treatment at the scene. He was subsequently arrested and taken into custody at the Macomb County Jail.
Police Seek Witnesses to the Sterling Heights Car Accident
Authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the car accident and are particularly interested in determining whether alcohol was indeed a factor. The Sterling Heights Police Department has urged anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward with information. Witnesses are encouraged to contact the Traffic Safety Bureau at 586-446-2920 and reference case number 24-60899.
