2023 IN THE REARVIEW MIRROR – WE ROCKED IT!

Buh-bye 2023! To use the parlance of our times, we had an incredibly bussin’ year at Giroux Pappas. We work hard every year, but in 2023 we beat our bests, broke records, and took names while remembering our humble roots and giving props to other hard-working Metro-Detroiters who improve our hometown. Let’s get into it!  

Numbers That Tell Our Story

We planted our roots in 2015, which doesn’t seem that long ago until you remember that Barack Obama was President and Mad Men was still airing new episodes. In the 9 years since, our team has grown to include 7 attorneys, 3 of counsel attorneys, and 11 dedicated support staff members. We’re proud of our growth but more proud of the impact we’ve made in our clients’ lives.

We achieved success for 151 clients in 2023! That’s over $25 million in verdicts and settlements for our clients. We’re honored to have been a part of transforming lives and providing support and a sense of security for those who needed it most. 

Supporting Our Community Beyond Legal Frontiers

So many teachers, coaches, and mentors of all kinds have been instrumental in supporting our own personal ambitions and we’ll never forget it! To return the favor in 2023 we sponsored programs like the Exceptional Educators Awards, WXYZ Brightest and Best, Victory Honda Youth Hockey, and the Taste of Greece Festival at Nativity of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church. Giroux Pappas has also committed to supporting Take Back The Night, an organization that is dedicated to ending sexual violence and harassment. Our collaboration with Take Back The Night is more than just a partnership; it’s a shared commitment to justice, awareness, and supporting survivors on their healing journeys.

Everyone’s favorite in 2023 was when our staff decided to adopt a family for the holidays and what was intended to be a run-of-the-mill exercise turned into an all-out holiday extravaganza! There ended up being so many gifts we had to arrange special transport for them to reach the family! We’re so proud of our team’s generosity and passion for helping someone in need.  

Recognizing Exceptional Educators That Shine

Teachers are the best! Our program, Exceptional Educators is in its third year and we recognized 9 educators who went above and beyond in 2023. From music teachers to robotics and STEM enthusiasts, and educators from elementary to high school, their dedication to education inspires us. We hope it makes up for all the grief we gave our favorite teachers back in the day (sorry, Mrs. O’Connor!).

Firm Fun and Bonding

We work hard and play hard! Our team enjoyed the holidays together with a trip to Traverse City in December and a Thanksgiving lunch at Andiamo. We cheered on our favorite team at our Annual Tiger Game outing, celebrated National Cheeseburger Day with a delicious lunch in September, frequented local hang outs like Bigalora and Mr. Joe’s and had fantastic cookouts both in the summer and spring. And finally not to be forgotten, we celebrate all birthdays, (October has the most!) complete with a new flavor of cake from bakeries around Metro Detroit. Ethics in law, business, and life are so important and we strive toward and evolve with them always. Our commitment to ethical practices earned us the Better Business Bureau’s Torch Award for Ethics. Recognition as Michigan Super Lawyers and Rising Stars reaffirms our dedication to excellence in our field. In addition, Bob Giroux reached the significant milestone of 30 years of practicing law. His deep legal knowledge and expertise in trial law is a cornerstone of the firm’s success.

As we turn the page on 2023, we’re deeply grateful to our incredible team, the trust our clients put in us, and the community that has supported us.
