One Dead, Multiple People Injured in Trucking Accident

Early Thursday morning around 4 a.m. a semi truck moving south on I-75 near South Otter Creek Road in La Salle Township crossed over the median barrier into a construction zone hitting multiple cars. One person is dead and multiple people are injured. This is just south of Monroe, Michigan.

According to police, the semi truck then crashed into multiple vehicles in the northbound lanes. No construction workers were present at the time.

Both directions of I-75 at South Otter Creek were closed Thursday morning as police continued to investigate the crash. 

The identity of the deceased person has not been disclosed by the authorities.

At present, investigations into the crash are ongoing.
