Celebrating Our December Exceptional Educator: Becky Ansell
December 2024 Exceptional Educator Named From Taylor High School
At Giroux Pappas, we believe in recognizing the incredible individuals who go above and beyond to shape the lives of the next generation. This month, we are thrilled to honor Becky Ansell, a teacher in the Taylor School District, as our December Exceptional Educator.
Becky’s journey is one of coming full circle. A proud graduate of Taylor High School, she chose to return to her alma mater to give back to the community that shaped her—and Taylor is all the better for it!
Becky’s career began as a World Language teacher, but her passion for supporting students has led her to wear many hats. Today, she’s a dedicated gym teacher who works with English language learners and students with disabilities, ensuring that every child feels seen and supported. This year, Becky broke new ground by launching Taylor High School’s first-ever Unified Gym program, creating an inclusive space for students of all abilities to thrive together.
Her commitment doesn’t stop there. Becky is:
- A soccer coach who fosters teamwork and sportsmanship.
- An advisor for the Class of 2028, helping guide the next generation.
- An advisor for the Culture Club, celebrating diversity and connection.
- A volunteer for the Special Olympics, championing athletes with disabilities.
- A summer camp director/counselor, serving young adults with special needs.
Her colleague describes her best: “She is one of the most selfless people I know. She is definitely beyond worthy of this acknowledgment and award.”
Evan Pappas, a partner at Giroux Pappas, shared why it’s so important to highlight educators like Becky:
“Teachers like Becky Ansell are the heart of our communities. They give so much of themselves to their students, creating opportunities and changing lives in ways that go far beyond the classroom. Through our Exceptional Educators program, we hope to shine a light on their extraordinary efforts and give back to those who give so much to others.”
